To mark World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, the assets managed and marketed by CBRE are launching “Quiet Time” in Iberia, an initiative that aims to create a more comfortable environment for people with autism spectrum disorders and other sensory sensitivities.
These measures, based on reducing visual and sound stimuli, were developed with the advice of the Portuguese Autism Federation.
So, every day from 10am to 11am, UBBO will adopt the following measures:
Ambient music switched off
Megaphone warnings/alerts switched off
Screens/TVs off
Internal communication limited to headphones only
Specific training for internal teams and interested tenants, so that they are able to identify and deal with occurrences within the scope of the autism spectrum.
Provision (for a deposit) of anti-noise earphones through the Concierge Desk
With this initiative, UBBO aims not only to create a more comfortable environment for people on the autism spectrum and with other sensory sensitivities, but also to raise awareness and understanding of the subject in the wider community.
