UBBO will officially announce the new Urban Art Mural next Saturday, October 11th.
The graffiti “Vamos Conversar” (Let’s Talk) was created by visual artist Gonçalo MAR and is part of the 11th Edition of “Conversas na Rua” (Conversations on the Street), a public urban art project by the Amadora City Council.
The initiative marks the 25th Anniversary of the Amadora Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People through a series of artistic interventions on the theme of preventing abuse, violence, and inequality.
The official inauguration of the mural—located on Av. José Garcês, next to the entrance to the UBBO car park—will take place in the Container Zone. Starting at 3:30 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to learn about “Conversas na Rua” (Conversations on the Street) from the voices of those involved: Catarina Valente, project coordinator; Joana Pinto, President of the Amadora CPCJ; and Gonçalo MAR, the artist who brought life and color to the intervention at UBBO.
The initiative will also feature a Graffiti Workshop, between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., led by Gonçalo MAR. The activity does not require prior registration and is limited to 15 participants (first come, first served).
